family stations

Thought I'd chuck in some pics of the fam spending time each at our own respective area's of creativity. A is on the sowing machine making a pencil roll, J is painting an inner sole he found in the drive way and T is painting some interesting things on a piece of green paper behind her is her canvass started the same time as mine.

The new installment....Partially

I only posted the other day but that's alright I have made myself busy developing this latest installment unfortunately the lighting for the pics isn't fantastic and sadly i couldn't be bothered doing anything about it, a bit like my typo's.
Anyways I chose blue for the color of the flame as it resembles the Holy Spirit and even though Jesus was filled with all sin I believe that the Holy Spirit was still present to give the strength to complete this aspect, if not the main point, of his task/goal/mission whilst here.
You'll notice also an etching in there and that is of a heart. As Jesus was the son of God, I feel that a heart was best to resemble not only Jesus but God's love for humanity, surrounded by the fire of the Holy Spirit.

So its been a while but even though it has been a couple of weeks since a last posted I've come up with the goods.
I decided the background would be a sunset, the swirls and colors etc. was to emphasise the drama etc with the general theme of the piece, also a sense of time as in the end of a day or in this case a completion of a mammoth task.

There is a slight etching in the tree that I am currently working on and will ave that installment shortly.

Mon. Dec 13th

So after the many hours working on the apple I did some little changes. And even though it's well over a week old I'm finally up to date with the blog and progress  on the canvass. A, bought me some black gesso and new brushes and I decided to get the apple rid of the illuminating glow I attempted, I've also added a tomb in the background that is open so there is no surprise as to what the painting is interpreting...my original goal of working on this for a year is speedily coming to an end. I reckon it wont last the quarter...but I will finish this and than stretch out another canvas the same size.

This little dude was the first image placed, consisting of charcoal, oils and aerosol paint

still needs a little work

Pretty much te whole thing is done with acrylics, which pretty much is my standard medium, there is still  couple more ideas that I could use alternate mediums to acrylic but that will have to wait...my point in starting this canvas was to use varied mediums, but I have proved once again I am a creature of habit.....
